AI Stock Showdown: Google Gemini or Microsoft CoPilot?

Alphabet (GOOG) CEO Sundar Pichai is more confident about Google’s artificial intelligence these days. The executive casually challenged Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella to an AI dual. If this happened, who would win?

Ever since ChatGPT stormed the technology sector with its chatbot, Google stumbled. More recently, the search engine giant introduced Gemini AI. Users who “google” will find an AI Overview at the top of the page, powered by Gemini. It adds a disclaimer that the generative AI response is experimental.

Google has a significant advantage over Microsoft in AI. It may leverage its existing user base. Conversely, to use CoPilot, powered by Chat GPT, users require a free Microsoft account. Since they already have a Gmail account, they may not want to create an Outlook email account. Still, CoPilot is a free, strong AI offering. In addition, Office 365 subscribers now have CoPilot Pro included. They no longer have to pay an extra $20 per month.

Stock Ideas

Investors may profit from the ongoing AI boom by holding Nvidia. Broadcom (AVGO), Qualcomm (QCOM), Intel (INTC), and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) are attractive. In software, Oracle (ORCL), Adobe (ADBE), and Microsoft are attractive holdings.

Software investors should not forget cybersecurity. Companies need protection from Fortinet (FTNT) and CrowdStrike (CRWD).
