Site of markers placed in concrete on the site of the home where Lavinia Parker and her son Francis were enslaved from 1835-1841. They were enslaved by Lucy Caroline Allen Hitchcock, daughter of Ethan Allen.
The hand-made metal markers were placed in 2020 through a project of Stopping Stones, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Ohavi Zedek Synagogue.
Stopping Stones are part of a national effort created by artist and activist Paul Growald, who was inspired by the works of artist, Gunter Demnig, whose Stolpersteine have memorialized the names of more than 58,000 victims of Nazi atrocities in Germany and 19 other European countries.
